Forum: etree Subject: track order metadata / listed order on details page

Question. For the order of the list that songs are listed on details page in the details page, it currently is based on file numbers right? i.e.

d1t01
d1t02
d1t03 ... etc.

But when a person messes up and names their files like this:

d1t1
d1t2
d1t3.... d1t10, d1t11 the order of the files (And the meta data track name listing ends up like this)

d1t1
d1t10
d1t11
...
d1t2
d1t20
d1t21
etc. as seen on this show:

http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=10306

is there a way to 'sort' the file listed in the main section but the 'track number' we enter in the meta data? It seems that it would not 'harm' the listed order of a correctly file named show, since the file name order, and the track number order would both produce the same correct result, but in cases like the above, where the file naming was wrong, but the meta data track numbers were correct, the overall listing of the track orders on the details page would also be correct.

sorry if i'm thinking too much about this, just trying to estimate people getting confused by looking at the .txt and then the metadata song order and not understanding why they aren't the same.

You're right - it'd be better to sort by the entered track number (or at least display the track number next to the song name). I'll look into it.
